Eight chairs and stone table commissioned, set on a flagstone patio overlooking the lake. Every piece cut from pre-Cambrian Muskoka granite — raw on the edges, precise where it counts. Assembled without mortar or glue, held together with stainless steel hardware hidden inside the solid stone. Built for this landscape. Built to outlast it.
Outdoor Bar Commission
A six-metre outdoor bar built for a cottager, where granite meets hand-peeled log in a design that could only come from Muskoka. The granite slabs were sourced from a local quarry — the size, quantity, and consistency of rock required made that the only practical choice. This was the project that changed everything. It was the first time I crossed the line and began carving raw granite slabs to fit perfectly against each other, with no cuts visible. After this, there was no going back.
Muskoka Chair with Ottoman
The granite Muskoka chair — an homage to the iconic cottage classic, cut from pre-Cambrian stone and set at the water's edge where it belongs. Sold to a Lake of Bays cottage. Waterproof, fireproof, windproof, and considerably heavier than the original. It isn't going anywhere.

The parts are assembled without mortar or glue but held together with stainless steel hardware hidden inside the solid stone. This allows the furniture to be taken apart and reassembled on site for many moves over the next thousand or so years.

After years of using found rocks in their pristine weathered state, I finally crossed the line and began carving the raw granite slabs to fit perfectly against each other, with no cuts visible. Still, I spent hours searching the quarries to find the pre-existing shapes I wanted.
